HB 261 seeks to legalize abortion in cases of rape and incest. If enacted, this bill would put mothers and babies at risk. It is the position of Louisiana Right to Life that every person deserves the same protection under the law, regardless of the nature of their conception. Rape and incest are terrible, traumatic experiences, and abortion further adds to this trauma. Louisiana offers resources that help mom AND baby, while law enforcement and the criminal justice system should work to hold those accountable who violate women.
