This bill temporarily expands the authority of the State Fire Marshal and its employees to full law enforcement powers, allowing them to enforce all state laws, make arrests broadly, carry firearms, and receive the same immunities as police officers—not just for fire- or arson-related offenses. It also simplifies and broadens commissioning authority for arson investigators at both the state and local level.
